Obituary for Linette Ann Smith

Linette Ann Smith
Linette Ann (Nee: Levy) Smith,51, was born in St. Andrew, Jamaica West Indies on September 05, 1966 to the late Vincent and Icema Levy. Linette was fondly called Annie by her family and friends. She attended elementary and high school in Kingston, Jamaica.
Linette became a resident of the United States of America in March 1986, and that December she joined the U.S. Army. That is where she met her beloved husband Darryl Smith of 29 years. After leaving the military she became a Licensed Practical Nurse and served at many facilities in Pennsylvania, Connecticut and North Carolina. Nursing was not only her passion but her calling. She touched so many lives and had a helping hand for any and everyone in need. Linette had many titles that she owned up to , to the fullest, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She had such a love for life and anytime you saw her she had a Pepsi (aka brown liquor) not too far from her. To know her was to love her. Her signature feature was her chubby cheeks and smile. That smile and laugh of hers could fill up a room. She will be deeply missed.
From an early age she wanted to become a nurse. She had a great love for taking care of the sick, the elderly, children and just people in general. She related well to people. She was easy to open up to with her great personality. Linette had a big heart, which could be seen by all. She reached out to all especially to those in need. She loved being a wife and mother. After military life, she lived in several places in PA, CT and the last 13 years in Indian Trail, NC. She last served as a nurse at Lake Park Nursing Home in Indian Trail. She loved her life and her home Church, Mount Moriah Baptist Church. She had a long battle with her health and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 24, 2017.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 1:00pm at Mount Moriah Baptist Church. Family will receive Friends Friday, September 29, 2017 from 7:00pm until 9:00pm at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 6525 Old Monroe Road, Indian Trail, NC 28079.
