Conway, SC - Janet L. Hodges, 69, died Saturday, January 2, 2016 at her residence. She was born October 4, 1946 in Baltimore Maryland, a daughter of Catherine Laverne Meyett Whisenant and the late Boyd Clyde Whisenant.

Mrs. Hodges was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed shopping at Wal-mart buying things even if she didn’t need it because it gave her the time to express to all, the social butterfly she was.

She loved her grandchildren and always put others before herself. She loved her dog, Ruby.

In Addition to her mother, Mrs. Hodges is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Hal “Wayne” Hodges; one son, Carl Wayne Hodges of Indian Trail NC; one daughter, Paula Hodges of Rock Hill SC; one brother, William “Bill” Boyd Whisenant (Agnes) of Maryland; three sisters, Carol Lois Grace (Ron), Cheryl Knepshield both of Maryland and Gwen Deal of North Carolina; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and many other family members who will miss her.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 6525 Old Monroe Road, Indian Trail. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
